The first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's Godspell has descended upon Circle in the Square Theatre with Hunter Parrish leading the cast as Jesus. Broadway.com's resident artist Justin 'Squigs' Robertson brought along his trusty art supplies to check out the show and sketched a colorful portrait capturing the youthful Godspell family in action. Take a look as Parrish enthusiastically embraces his co-stars Celisse Henderson, Julia Mattison (on for Morgan James), Uzo Aduba, Nick Blaemire, George Salazar, Lindsay Mendez, Wallace Smith, Anna Marie Perez de Tagle and Telly Leung. Make sure to share the love with Parrish and his followers by planning your own trip to Godspell!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Click to e-mail Squigs. Photo by Matthew Murphy
