After all the advance word on the sexy stage pairing of Nina Arianda and Hugh Dancy, Venus in Fur is set to open on November 8 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. Manhattan Theatre Club is producing the Broadway transfer of David Ives’ acclaimed comedy, directed by Tony winner Walter Bobbie (Chicago).
Loosely adapted from an infamous erotic novel, Venus in Fur centers on power plays between an ambitious young actress and a playwright/director after she arrives for an audition. This talked-about production will reportedly attract first-nighters Claire Danes (Dancy's wife and the star of Homeland), David Hyde Pierce, Jonathan Groff (who starred in Bobbie’s recent off-Broadway production of The Submission), Rita Wilson and many more.
If you haven’t snapped up tickets to the limited engagement of Venus in Fur, now’s the time!
