Get ready for a new batch of fresh faces from Jersey. The hit musical Jersey Boys will launch its second national tour, kicking off in Philadelphia on December 6, before hitting the road. The new company stars Brad Weinstock as Frankie Valli, Colby Foytik as Tommy DeVito, Brandon Andrus as Nick Massi and Jason Kappus as Bob Gaudio.
Weinstock, a Jersey boy himself, was seen in the Las Vegas production of the show and played Boq in the first national tour of Wicked. Foytik, also from the Las Vegas production of Jersey Boys, played Perchik in Fiddler on the Roof opposite both Topol and Harvey Fierstein. Andrus played Curly in the first national tour of Oklahoma! and has also been seen in Xanadu. Kappus appeared on Broadway in American Idiot and was also seen in the national tour of Legally Blonde.
Jersey Boys is a musical biography of the Four Seasons—the rise, the tough times, personal clashes and the ultimate triumph of a group of friends whose music became symbolic of a generation. The show gets to the heart of the relationships at the center of the group—with a special focus on frontman Frankie Valli, the small kid with the big falsetto. In addition to following the quartet’s coming of age as performers, the core of the show is how an allegiance to a code of honor learned in the streets of their native New Jersey got them through a multitude of challenges: gambling debts, Mafia threats and family disasters.
Featuring the hit songs of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, the show includes the songs “December 1963 (Oh, What A Night),” “Working My Way Back To You” and “Who Loves You,” and well as early hits such as “Walk Like a Man” and “Sherry.”
