Bachelorette, Leslye Headland's previously announced film adaptation of her off-Broadway play, will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival this winter. The movie stars Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher, Casey Wilson and Lizzie Caplan. The festival runs January 19-29, 2012, in Park City, Utah.
Bachelorette follows a group of twentysomething women (Dunst, Fisher, Wilson and Caplan) who come together in a lavish hotel on the eve of the wedding of one of their friends (Rebel Wilson). The girls, however, have always disliked the bride-to-be, whom they've known since high school, and spend their drug and booze-fueled night ridiculing her, while partying with a pair of guys they meet outside the hotel. The cast also features James Marsden, Adam Scott and Kyle Bornheimer.
Directed by Trip Cullman, Bachelorette opened at Second Stage's McGinn-Cazale Theatre on July 21, 2010, as part of the company's Second Stage Uptown summer series.
The 2012 edition of the Sundance Film Festival will also feature movies starring stage veterans including Cheyenne Jackson and Parker Posey (Price Check), Tony winner Frank Langella (Robot and Frank), Christie Brinkley (the beauty documentary About Face), Tony winner Catherine Zeta-Jones (Lay the Favorite), Relatively Speaking's Ari Graynor (For a Good Time, Call...) and Chris Rock (2 Days in New York).
