Samuel L. Jackson and Angela Bassett welcomed a special guest to the Martin Luther King Jr. drama The Mountaintop on December 6: Grammy winner and all-around music legend Aretha Franklin. After the performance, Franklin, a close friend of the late Dr. King, headed backstage at Broadway's Jacobs Theatre to congratulate the starry duo on their performances as King (Jackson) and Lorraine Motel maid Camae (Bassett). (The Queen of Soul even headlined the dedication ceremony for the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in Washington D.C. earlier this year.) Show some r-e-s-p-e-c-t by checking out Franklin's visit above, then be sure to head to The Mountaintop yourself!
