In 1957, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella brought Julie Andrews into the homes and hearts of millions of Americans as the young girl with an angelic voice, who goes from a servant to a princess. Since then, the made-for-television musical has been reimagined twice with Lesley Ann Warren and Brandy each taking a turn as the iconic title character. Now almost 55 years after its original premiere, the classic musical fairy tale is eyeing its first Broadway production. Casting has yet to be announced, so we can’t help but speculate which actress should step into the glass slippers.
