Venus in Fur is set to transfer to Broadway's Lyceum Theatre. Starring Nina Arianda and Hugh Dancy, the David Ives play ends its limited engagement at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on December 18. The production, directed by Walter Bobbie, will resume performances at the Lyceum on February 7, 2012 and run through June 17, 2012.
Loosely adapted from an infamous erotic novel, Venus in Fur centers on power plays between an ambitious young actress (Arianda) and a playwright/director (Dancy) after she arrives for an audition.
Venus in Fur first opened at off-Broadway's Classic Stage Company on January 26, 2010, in a production starring Arianda and Wes Bentley. The Broadway mounting opened on November 8, 2011.
