Oscar winner Helen Mirren will appear on the January 17 episode of Glee, according to TVLine.com. Mirren will play the “inner voice” of one of the characters. Although the spot was specifically written for Mirren, the show is keeping mum on which character's mind she will inhabit. Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leaks is also set to guest star on the episode, titled "The Proposal," as swim coach Roz Washington.
Mirren won a Best Actress Oscar for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen. She appeared on Broadway in A Month in the Country and Dance of Death. Her other film credits include Arthur, Gosford Park, Calendar Girls and The Tempest.
Mirren will be one of many high-profile Glee guest stars in January. Previously announced pop stars Gloria Estefan, Pitbull and Ricky Martin (who is Broadway-bound in Evita) are also set to make appearances on the hit series in 2012.
