Presidents get portraits in the White House, and theater stars get portraits from Broadway.com resident artist Justin 'Squigs' Robertson. In the case of Broadway.com's Star of the Year for 2011, Daniel Radcliffe, only a special "congratulations and farewell" portrait would do. In honor of Radcliffe's latest honor, voted on by fans, and his successful run in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Squigs mixed elements of the star's Broadway character, J. Pierrepont Finch, with the real-life Dan's sparkling personality. Cheers!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Click to e-mail Squigs. Photo by Matthew Murphy
