Former and future stage co-stars Sierra Boggess and Tam Mutu have confirmed their engagement. The couple, who appeared together in the London premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies, are headed to Broadway in March as “I” and Maxim de Winter in the musical adaptation of Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca.
"I was an American in London and fell in love with a British man," Boggess told Broadway.com of the couple's time together in Love Never Dies, "and now Broadway is going to fall in love with him. He's extraordinary and we're really lucky to have him in Rebecca."
Boggess most recently co-starred in the Broadway revival of Master Class and played the title role in the Broadway premiere of The Little Mermaid. She created the role of Christine Daae in Love Never Dies after playing Christine in the Las Vegas incarnation of The Phantom of the Opera.
In addition to Love Never Dies, Mutu’s London stage credits include the West End production of Les Miserables as well as Love's Labour's Lost, Anything Goes, South Pacific, Orange Peel and Royal Hunt of the Sun.
Rebecca is set to open on April 22 at the Broadhurst Theatre, co-directed by Michael Blakemore and Francesca Zambello.
