Relatively Speaking, the evening of one-act comedies from Ethan Coen, Elaine May and Woody Allen, will end its Broadway run on January 29 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. The production opened on October 20, 2011. Upon closing, it will have played a total of 35 previews and 118 regular performances.
Directed by John Turturro, Relatively Speaking explores different branches of the (dysfunctional) family tree. In Talking Cure, Coen uncovers the sort of insanity than can only come from family. In George Is Dead, starring Marlo Thomas, May explores the hilarity of death, and in Honeymoon Motel, starring Steve Guttenberg, Allen takes you to a cheesy hotel suite to celebrate the sort of wedding day you won’t soon forget.
In addition to Thomas and Guttenberg, Relatively Speaking features Caroline Aaron, Bill Army, Katherine Borowitz, Lisa Emery, Ari Graynor, Danny Hoch, Julie Kavner, Jason Kravits, Richard Libertini, Mark Linn-Baker, Max Gordon Moore, Patricia O’Connell, Allen Lewis Rickman and Grant Shaud.
