Tickets for Signature Theatre’s Blood Knot, starring Tony nominee Colman Domingo (Scottsboro Boys) and Scott Shepherd (Gatz), are now on sale. The show will begin previews on January 31 and run through March 11 with an official opening on February 16. Blood Knot marks the inaugural production in the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at the new off-Broadway Signature Center, and is the first of three Athol Fugard plays that will be presented at Signature Theatre this season.
Written by and directed Fugard, Blood Knot is the story of two biracial South African brothers: the light-skinned Morris (Shepherd) and the dark-skinned Zach (Domingo). While Morris is able to pass for white, Zach feels imprisoned by his job at a park for whites only. Together, the pair struggles with poverty, isolation and the blood knot between them.
