Courtney Balan, Chris Hoch, David Josefsberg and Joanna Young will star in the previously announced new musical, Rated P for Parenthood. The comedy features a book and lyrics by Sandy Rustin, and music and lyrics by Dan Lipton and David Rossmer. Directed by Jeremy Dobrish, Rated P for Parenthood will begin previews on February 8 at off-Broadway's Westside Theatre. Opening night, which was previously scheduled for February 26, has been moved to February 29.
Balan starred in the original production of Rated P for Parenthood at the South Orange Performing Arts Center. Her Broadway credits include [title of show], Cry-Baby and In My Life. Hoch appeared on Broadway in La Cage Aux Folles, The Wedding Singer, Grease, Les Misérables and On the Twentieth Century. David Josefsberg's Broadway credits include The Wedding Singer, Grease, Les Miserables and On the Twentieth Century. Young has appeared on Broadway in The Drowsy Chaperone and Grease.
Rated P For Parenthood follows a cast of four as they take the audience through the ups and downs of child rearing. The show features a series of comic and musical vignettes that explore every stage of modern-day parenting, from conception to college.
The Rated P For Parenthood creative team will include choreographer Rachel Bress, scenic designer Steven Capone, costume designer Emily DeAngelis, lighting designer Michael Gottlieb and sound designers Jill BC DuBoff and David Sanderson.
