The off-Broadway revival of John Osborne’s Look Back in Anger begins previews on January 13. The production will officially open on February 2 at Roundabout Theatre Company’s Laura Pels Theatre. Directed by Sam Gold, this limited engagement runs through April 8.
The gritty drama, set in 1950’s England, features Brothers & Sisters star Matthew Rhys as Jimmy, an angry young man struggling to connect with his wife Alison (Sarah Goldberg) in a cramped one-room apartment. The couple’s friends, Cliff (Adam Driver) and Helena (Charlotte Parry) round out the cast. Look Back in Anger was originally mounted in 1956 at the Royal Court Theatre in London and opened on Broadway in 1957, earning a Tony nomination for Best Play.
Look Back in Anger features scenic design by Andrew Lieberman, costume design by David Zinn, lighting design by Mark Barton and sound design by Bray Poor.
