Now. Here. This., the latest work from the gang behind [title of show] has set dates at off-Broadway's Vineyard Theatre. The new musical, directed and choreographed by Michael Berresse, will begin previews on March 7 and open on March 28.
Now. Here. This. features music by Jeff Bowen and a book by Hunter Bell and Broadway.com contributor Susan Blackwell. The piece, which received a developmental lab production at the Vineyard earlier, investigates and celebrates living in the present through autobiographical stories and songs accompanied by a multi-piece band. According to the show's creative team, “the piece explores what goes down in the space between the past and the future, and how the universe conspires to bring people together." Now. Here. This. also delves into life's big questions while exploring birds, bees, reptiles, early man, ancient civilizations, and outer space. Also, loneliness, friendship, hoarding, hiding, laughing, living and dying. And middle school. And dinosaurs.
Bell, Blackwell, Bowen and Heidi Blickenstaff will reunite for the production along with musical director/arranger Larry Pressgrove, who leads a four-piece band.
