Earlier this week, the 2012 Oscar nominations were announced and, as usual, several Broadway veterans (Viola Davis, Glenn Close, Meryl Streep, Christopher Plummer and Janet McTeer) will vie for acting awards. Nominees for the evening's top honor, Best Picture, include Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of the children's novel War Horse, which has already spawned a Tony-winning drama of the the same name. In recent years, of course, popular movies have become Broadway's top source material for musicals (including current and upcoming entries Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Once, Sister Act, Ghost and Newsies). That got us to thinking about which of the other eight nominated films would best translate to the stage, as either a play or musical. We want to know: Which 2012 Best Picture nominee would you like to see on stage? Vote below!
