Atlantic Theater Company’s CQ/CX is scheduled to resume performances on the evening of February 1, according to a press rep for the show. Gabe McKinley’s CQ/CX canceled two performances on January 29 due to water damage at off-Broadway's Peter Norton Space resulting from a fire that occurred in the building above the theater. The drama, directed by David Leveaux, is still set to open on February 15 and run through March 4.
Inspired by McKinley's own experience as a journalist, CQ/CX tells the story of Jay, an up and coming black reporter at The New York Times, who finds his dreams of becoming a famous journalist crashing down as he becomes the center of a plagiarism scandal.
The play stars two-time Tony nominee David Pittu as Junior, Tony nominee Larry Bryggman as Frank King, Peter Jay Fernandez as Gerald Haynes, Tim Hopper as Ben, Arliss Howard as Hal Martin, Kobi Libii as Jay Bennett, Steve Rosen as Jacob Sherman and Sheila Tapia as Monica Soria.
The Peter Norton Space is the former home of the Signature Theatre Company. Atlantic Theater Company is producing shows at venues throughout New York while its mainstage in Chelsea is under renovation.
