After helming the pilot for NBC's upcoming Broadway-centric series Smash, Tony-winning director Michael Mayer has been tapped to direct another pilot for the network titled Do No Harm, according to Deadline.com. No casting for the show has been announced.
Do Not Harm is a medical drama with a Jekyll and Hyde feel. The series revolves around a brilliant neurosurgeon who wrestles with a dangerous alter ego that threatens to wreak havoc on his personal and professional life.
Mayer received a Tony Award in 2007 for his direction of Spring Awakening. His other Broadway credits include American Idiot, The Lion in Winter, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Side Man and the 2011 revival of On a Clear Day You Can See Forever.
Do No Harm features a script by David Schulner and is executive produced by Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplan.
