Oscar nominee Jennifer Tilly will star as Suzanne in Mark Camoletti’s French farce, Don’t Dress for Dinner. Directed by John Tillinger and adapted by Robin Hawdon, the production will also star Melora Hardin as Jacqueline, Ben Daniels as Robert, Adam James as Bernard and Spencer Kayden as Suzette. The Roundabout Theatre Company production begins previews on March 30 and officially opens on April 26 at the American Airlines Theatre.
Don’t Dress for Dinner is the sequel to Camoletti’s play Boeing-Boeing. Originally titled Pajamas Pour Six, the comedy, which first opened in Paris in 1987, tells the tale of a married couple who both try to plan separate romantic trysts, but wind up at the same hijinks-filled dinner instead. The lighthearted farce has never appeared on Broadway, but Tillinger directed a previous production at Chicago’s Royal George Theatre in 2008, also starring Kayden.
Tilly made her Broadway debut in The Women. Her film and TV credits include Liar, Liar, Monsters, Inc., Family Guy, Modern Family and Bullets Over Broadway, for which she earned an Academy Award nomination. Hardin is best known as Jan on NBC’s The Office and has appeared on Broadway in Chicago. Daniels earned a Tony nomination for Les Liasons Dangereuses. James will make his Broadway debut in Don’t Dress for Dinner, and has appeared off-Broadway in The Pride. Kayden made her Broadway debut in Urinetown. Her TV credits include MADtv and Blue’s Clues.
