The Night of 1000 Voices returns to the Royal Albert Hall on May 6 to raise awareness and funds for the charity Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. The evening, hosted by Christopher Biggins (I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here), will feature performances by Wicked star and Broadway.com Audience Choice Award Winner Kerry Ellis, Miss Saigon’s Peter Polycarpou and Doctor Who star Bonnie Langford. The one-night-only event will be directed by Hugh Wooldridge and musically supervised by Stuart Morley and David Firman.
Joining Ellis, Polycarpou and Langford on stage are Ricardo Afonso, Daniel Boys, Clive Rowe, Caroline Sheen, Sally Ann Triplett, Yngve Gasoy Romdal and David Michael Johnson. Other performers will be announced at a later date. The City of London Philharmonic will accompany the star-studded cast.
Since 1999 The Night of 1000 Voices has raised nearly half a million pounds for U.K.-based charities. This year’s charity, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, is dedicated to saving lives through leading U.K. research into better treatments and cures for all blood cancers including leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. The charity receives no government funding and relies entirely on private donation.
