Tony nominee Matthew Morrison will release his second solo album, this time on Adam Levine’s new label 222 Records, according to Billboard. Best known as Will Scheuster on TV’s Glee, Morrison is the first artist signed to the new label of the Maroon 5 frontman and judge of TV's The Voice. A release date for the album has not been announced.
Morrison released his self-titled first studio album in 2011 on Mercury Records. The album included duets with Elton John, Sting and Gwyneth Paltrow in addition to singles like "Summer Rain" and "My Name." In the summer of 2011, Morrison toured with the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block. Former *NSYNC member JC Chasez co-wrote the song "Hey" on Morrison's first solo album.
Morrison earned a Tony nomination for Light in the Piazza. He has also appeared on Broadway in South Pacific, Hairspray, The Rocky Horror Show, Footloose and A Naked Girl on the Appian Way. Morrison has starred on Glee since its premiere in May 2009.
