Lydia R. Diamond’s dark family comedy Stick Fly will play its final performance on February 26 at the Cort Theatre. Starring Tracie Thoms, Mekhi Phifer and Dulé Hill, the production will have played 24 previews and 92 regular performances at the date of closing.
Directed by Tony nominee Kenny Leon, Stick Fly is the story of the LeVays, a wealthy African-American family who come together for a weekend at their Martha’s Vineyard Mansion. When the two adult sons both bring dates (one black and one white) to meet their parents, the weekend becomes a battle of class, race and identity politics. The production features original music by Alicia Keys.
Stick Fly also stars Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Condola Rashad and Rosie Benton. The production opened on December 8, 2011.
