Two-time Tony winner Patti LuPone will be honored in a star-studded gala at The Kaye Playhouse to benefit The Acting Company, of which LuPone is a founding member and board director. The March 12 soiree will feature two other founding members, Kevin Kline and David Schramm, along with Kristin Chenoweth, Sutton Foster, Harvey Fierstein, Zoe Caldwell, Laura Benanti, Boyd Gaines, Michael Urie, Melissa Errico, Howard McGillin, Steven Pasquale, Anthony Dean Griffey, Manoel Feliciano, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.
Patti's Turn, as the evening is titled, will feature a mix of songs and stories. “Patti was with us in the beginning,” said Margot Harley, The Acting Company’s Producing Artistic Director, “and has never really left. She toured for our first four seasons and has continued to entertain for us, raise money for us and serves on our board of directors. Patti is a beloved member of The Acting Company family and we are proud to salute her and her extraordinary career. Will Patti sing for her supper? Yes!”
LuPone earned Tony Awards for Evita and Gypsy. She also received additional nominations for Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Sweeney Todd, Anything Goes and The Robber Bridegroom. Her other Broadway credits include An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin, Noises Off, The Old Neighborhood, Master Class, Oliver and many more.
In addition to LuPone, Kline and Schramm, performers who began their careers on tour with The Acting Company include Rainn Wilson, Frances Conroy, Jeffrey Wright, Harriet Harris, David Ogden Stiers, Keith David and Jesse L. Martin.
