Tickets are now on sale for the Broadway revival of Gore Vidal’s classic political drama The Best Man. The production stars two-time Tony winner James Earl Jones, five-time Tony winner Angela Lansbury, Eric McCormack, Tony winner John Larroquette, Michael McKean, Tony nominee Kerry Butler and Tony winner Jefferson Mays. Directed by Michael Wilson, The Best Man begins previews March 6 and opens officially on April 1 at the Schoenfeld Theatre.
Originally mounted in 1960, The Best Man centers around two political candidates vying for their party’s nomination during the primary season. Set at the national convention, The Best Man is an inside look at the dirt-digging, double-dealing, triple-crossing chicanery of presidential electioneering.
The Best Man creative team includes scenic designer Derek McLane, lighting designer Kenneth Posner, music and sound designer John Gromada and costume designer Ann Roth.
