A-listers like 30 Rock star Cheyenne Jackson, Smash headliner Debra Messing and many more will come together to honor Tony winner Linda Lavin at the Vineyard Theatre’s 2012 Benefit Gala, to be held on March 12 at The Hudson Theatre. Charles Busch and Julie Halston will co-host the Gala, and Carl Andress will direct.
Joining Jackson and Messing will be Judy Kuhn, Jill Eikenberry, Michael Tucker, Celia Weston, Hope Davis, Tony Roberts, John Guare, Billy Stritch, Will Chase, Veanne Cox, Julia Murney, Colman Domingo, Ann Harada, Jessie Mueller, Jim Caruso and members of the company of The Vineyard's upcoming musical Now. Lavin won a Tony award for her performance in Broadway Bound, and recently starred in The Vineyard's world premiere of The Lyons written by Nicky Silver. Other recent credits include the Kennedy Center production of Follies, and Other Desert Cities at Lincoln Center. She has appeared on Broadway in The Sisters Rosensweig, Collected Stories, Hollywood Arms, The Tale of the Allergists Wife, The Diary of Anne Frank, Gypsy, The Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Cop Out, Story Theatre, Something Different, It’s a Bird..It’s a Plane…It’s Superman and A Family Affair. She starred as the title character in TV hit Alice, and her films include The Backup Plan, The Muppets Take Manhattan, See You in the Morning and I Want to Go Home.
