MTV has decided not to pick up the new animated comedy Good Vibes, starring The Book of Mormon’s Josh Gad, for a second season, according to Deadline.com. MTV honchos “felt that the series didn’t attract a broad enough audience to justify another season.”
In Good Vibes, Gad voiced the main character Mondo, a chubby New Jersey teenager who found himself incredibly out of place when his single mother (voiced by Debi Mazar) decided to relocate the family to the sunny surf culture of Playa del Toro, California.
No need to fear for Gad! In addition to his starring duties in Mormon, he is writing, producing and starring in the new NBC pilot 1600 Penn. The new comedy will follow a dysfunctional First Family in which the out-of-control oldest son (Gad) returns home and becomes not only its biggest liability, but also the glue holding everyone together.
