Kristen Bell will join previously announced star Adam Brody in the upcoming film adaptation of Neil LaBute's Some Girls, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Directed by Jennifer Getzinger (Mad Men), Some Girls will be produced by LaBute alongside Leeden Media’s Patty West and Chris Schwartz, in conjunction with Andrew Carlberg Production. No other casting has been announced.
Bell will play Bobbi, a smart, articulate woman reuniting with her former lover (Brody) as he travels cross-country to make amends with ex-girlfriends before getting married. The play, billed as Some Girl(s), was produced off-Broadway by MCC Theater in 2006 with a cast led by Will & Grace veteran and upcoming The Best Man star Eric McCormack. The "girls" in the piece were portrayed by Maura Tierney, Fran Drescher, Brooke Smith and Judy Reyes.
Best known for her role as the title character on TV's Veronica Mars, Bell’s film credits include Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Scream 4 and Couples Retreat. Bell appeared on Broadway in The Crucible and in the short-lived 2001 musical The Adventures of Tom Sawyer as Becky Thatcher.
Some Girls is set to start shooting in April 2012.
