The cult classic musical Carrie is back! Based on the Stephen King novel, Carrie tells the story of a bullied girl who takes revenge on her classmates at the bloodiest prom in history. Broadway.com’s resident artist Justin “Squigs” Robertson ventured back to high school to take in all the horror and destruction. In this arresting portrait, Squigs highlights three-time Tony nominee Marin Mazzie as religious zealot Margaret White and Molly Ranson as her troubled daughter, Carrie. On the side of the photo are Carrie’s tormentors-turned-victims, played by Christy Altomare, Derek Klena, Carmen Cusack, Jeanna de Waal and Ben Thompson. See how the story plays out for yourself at off-Broadway’s Lucille Lortel Theatre.
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Click to e-mail Squigs. Photo by Matthew Murphy
