Tony winner Andrea Martin and two-time Tony winner Judd Hirsch have joined the cast of a CBS sitcom pilot, according to Deadline.com. In the untitled show, Martin and Hirsch star as the parents of a down-and-out 37-year-old, played by Ben Falcone. The pilot, written by Falcone and Larry Dorf, is executive produced by Falcone’s wife, Bridesmaids Oscar nominee Melissa McCarthy. No further casting or filming dates have been set.
The untitled pilot tells the story of a single, middle-aged man (Falcone) who loses his money and home in the real estate collapse. The man is faced with no other choice but to move back to his childhood home with his parents.
Martin won a Tony for My Favorite Year, and earned Tony nominations for Young Frankenstein, Oklahoma! and Candide. Her film and TV credits include SCTV, Wag the Dog and My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Best known as Alex Reiger on TV’s Taxi, Hirsch won Tony Awards for Conversations With My Father and I’m Not Rappaport. His other Broadway credits include Sixteen Wounded and A Thousand Clowns.
