Supernatural musical Ghost comes to life on Broadway as previews begin at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on March 15. London Ghost headliners Caissie Levy and Richard Fleeshman reprise their roles as Molly and Sam, joined by Bryce Pinkham and Da’Vine Joy Randolph as Carl Bruner and Oda Mae Brown, respectively. Matthew Warchus directs the musical, which will officially open on April 23.
Ghost, based on the hit 1990 film starring Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze, follows a young couple, Sam and Molly, who get mugged while walking home to their New York apartment one night. Sam is murdered and becomes trapped in this world as a ghost, unable to leave Molly, whom he learns is in grave danger. With the help of a storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, Sam tries to communicate with Molly from beyond in hopes of protecting her. The musical features a book by Bruce Joel Rubin (adapted from his Oscar-winning screenplay) and a score by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard.
