Glee is currently filming an entire episode dedicated to late singer Whitney Houston, according to EOnline.com. The tribute episode will feature eight songs from the pop singer’s catalogue. No air date or song list has been announced.
Glee star Lea Michele kept mum on details, but shared her feelings about paying tribute to Houston on Twitter: “Starting a new episode today. A very special tribute to one of the world's most amazing singers. Very excited about this one.”
The show previously featured one of Houston's most memorable songs for it's recent Valentine's Day episode, which had been filmed prior to her passing. Amber Riley (who plays Mercedes on the hit show) sang a touching rendition of “I Will Always Love You.” The episode featured a dedication card in the show’s ending credits.
Grammy-winning singer Whitney Houston died on February 11 at the age of 48. In a Broadway.com poll, readers selected "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)," "I Have Nothing" and "The Greatest Love of All" as the Houston songs they'd like to hear Riley cover on an upcoming episode of Glee.
