Lysistrata Jones star Patti Murin will play the lead female character in an untitled CBS pilot from Louis CK and Spike Feresten, according to Deadline.com. The comedy follows a group of “young people trying to achieve their creative dreams in these tough financial times.” Murin will play a struggling vintage clothing designer. No filming schedule or further casting have been announced.
In addition to playing the title character in Broadway's Lysistrata Jones, Murin’s also appeared in the Broadway cast of Xanadu. Murin’s regional credits include Hairspray, Next Thing You Know, Band Geeks! and High School Musical. On television, she appeared as Ellen on the long-running soap All My Children.
Lysistrata Jones opened at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre on December 14, 2011. The musical closed on January 8 after 34 preview and 30 regular performances. Loosely based on Aristophanes’ Lysistrata, the musical follows a group of college cheerleaders who decide to stop having sex with their boyfriends until the basketball team can turn around their long-running losing streak.
