Squigs Knows How to Love Jesus Christ Superstar’s Paul Nolan, Josh Young & More

It takes divine inspiration to bring the greatest story ever told to life in art, and that’s exactly what Broadway.com’s resident artist Justin “Squigs” Robertson had when he took a seat at the Neil Simon Theatre to see Jesus Christ Superstar. Paul Nolan leads the cast of the Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice rock musical, with Josh Young and Chilina Kennedy by his side as disciple Judas and Mary Magdalene, respectively. After Jesus enters his onstage Jerusalem, he has to face  Bruce Dow as the taunting condemner, Herod, Tom Hewitt as the tormented Pontius Pilate, and Marcua Nance as chief priest Caiaphas. About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet.
