Performing eight times a week can be a demanding feat for any actor, but for Susan Blackwell, Hunter Bell, Jeff Bowen and Heidi Blickenstaff the task is even more daunting as the Now. Here. This. stars play themselves! The group has also previously presented theatrical versions of themselves in the 2008 musical [title of show]. So do they ever wish they could join the audience and watch other actors do their job for them? Broadway.com recently chatted with the cast to find out their top choices to play themselves if for some reason they couldn’t make it to the Vineyard Theatre one night.
“I’m such a big fan of Jennifer Coolidge,” gushed Blickenstaff. “I love her. If she played me I would be honored. She could play me. She’d do me better than me!”
Bell also opted for another Broadway veteran, Modern Family’s resident redhead Jesse Tyler Ferguson, crediting his “ginger power.” Meanwhile Blackwell went for a less obvious choice by selecting Sister Act’s Patina Miller. Bowen seemingly had the hardest time coming up with a doppelganger, but finally settled on singer/actor/all-around-heartthrob Justin Timberlake.
