Andrew Samonsky (South Pacific), Mara Davi (The Drowsy Chaperone) and Steve Blanchard (Beauty and the Beast) will take part in an industy reading of a musical adaptation of the 1980 film Somewhere in Time. Presented by Ken Davenport and directed by Scott Schwartz, the reading takes place March 31. The show features music by Doug Katsaros, lyrics by Amanda Yesnowitz and a book by Richard Matheson.
Somewhere in Time follows Richard Collier (Samonsky), a playwright who falls in love with the portrait of a woman named Elise (Davi) from the early 1900s. He then travels back in time to pursue the relationship. Her manager William Henry Robinson (Blanchard) is not thrilled by the courtship. The original film starred Christopher Reeve as Richard, Jane Seymour as Elise and Christopher Plummer as William.
The reading will also feature Liz Bachman, Carolee Goodgold, Michael Hance, Michael Pesce, James Sasser, Tina Stafford, Jessica Vosk and Jim Walton. Somewhere in Time is presented by Ken Davenport.
