End of the Rainbow is bringing the legacy of late stage and screen icon Judy Garland to Broadway as Olivier winner Tracie Bennett makes her Broadway debut as the famed singer. Meanwhile on NBC’s Smash, the life of Marilyn Monroe is also being given the Broadway treatment, and Becoming Chaplin, a musical about screen great Charlie Chaplin, is also eyeing a Rialto run. Many other showbiz icons have already had their lives and music brought to Great White Way like John Lennon (Lennon), Frank Sinatra (Come Fly Away) and Elvis Presley (Million Dollar Quartet, All Shook Up).
