Two-time Tony nominee Bobby Cannavale, two-time Tony winner Judith Ivey and stage and screen favorite Matthew Modine will star in Reflecting Rabe: Readings From David Rabe’s Work, part of the Dark Nights at the New Group reading series. Reflecting Rabe features readings of excerpts from Rabe’s plays and fiction. The reading will take place at The New Group at off-Broadway’s Theatre Row on April 15.
Cannavale earned Tony nods for his performances in The Motherf**ker With the Hat and Mauritius. Ivey won Tony Awards for Steaming and Rabe’s play Hurlyburly. She has also appeared on Broadway in Follies, Voices in the Dark, Park Your Car in Harvard Yard, Blithe Spirit, Precious Sons, Piaf and Bedroom Farce. Modine appeared on Broadway in The Miracle Worker. His film credits include Full Metal Jacket, Any Given Sunday and And the Band Played On.
Rabe won a Tony Award for his play Sticks and Stones. His additional Broadway works include Hurlyburly, The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel, Streamers and Boom Boom Room. The New Group's world premiere of Rabe’s new play An Early History of Fire begins previews April 5 at the Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row.
