Tracie Bennett’s performance as Judy Garland in Peter Quilter’s End of the Rainbow is the “talk of the town.” In the new play, Bennett sings Garland’s most famous torch songs (“The Man That Got Away,” “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”) and Broadway’s resident artist Justin ‘Squigs’ Robertson was at the Belasco Theatre to capture Bennett’s captivating star turn. In this portrait, Bennett takes center stage as Garland with Tom Pelphrey and Michael Cumpsty looking on as her fiancé, Mickey Deans and pianist, Anthony, respectively. About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Click to e-mail Squigs. Photo by Matthew Murphy
