Peter and the Starcatcher takes flight as the whimsical Peter Pan prequel opens at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on April 15. Co-directed by Roger Rees and Alex Timbers, the show stars Adam Chanler-Berat, Christian Borle and Celia Keenan-Bolger.
A slew of stars are expected to attend the opening night performance including Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei, Smash’s Debra Messing, Will Chase and Leslie Odom Jr., Harvey Keitel, two-time Tony winners Katie Finneran and Tom Kitt, Tony winner B.D. Wong and Laura Benanti, Newsies star Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Evita's Max von Essen, four-time Tony nominee Tovah Feldshuh, three-time Tony nominee Sherie Renee Scott, Tony nominees Gavin Creel and Arian Moayed, Bonnie and Clyde alum Laura Osnes, Now. Here. This. stars Susan Blackwell and Heidi Blickenstaff, The Addams Family alum Brooke Shields, as well as comedians Lisa Lampanelli and Susie Essman.
Adapted by Rick Elice from the Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson novel of the same name, Peter and the Starcatcher features a company of 12 actors portraying some 50 characters, all on a journey to answer the question: How did Peter Pan become The Boy Who Refused To Grow Up? The cast also features Teddy Bergman, Rick Holmes, Arnie Burton, Matt D’Amico, Kevin Del Aguila, Carson Elrod, Greg Hildreth and David Rossmer. The show previously played a sold-out run at off-Broadway's New York Theater Workshop during the spring of 2011.
