Broadway veteran Tony Vincent was eliminated from NBC's singing competition The Voice on April 10.
During the show's initial blind audition round, the American Idiot, Jesus Christ Superstar and Rent alum earned a spot on judge Cee-Lo Green’s team. Green complimented Vincent’s powerful vocals and the “great justice” he’d done to late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury’s “We Are the Champions.” After a solid victory in the battle rounds, Vincent performed “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” on the April 9 live episode, but ended up in the bottom three of his team once audience votes were tallied. In an attempt to save his spot on the show, Vincent then sang the Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)." However, it ultimately turned out to be his last performance.
In a post-show interview on Access Hollywood, the brand new dad thinks his elimination may be a blessing in disguise. Click on below to hear his thoughts, and stay tuned to see what Tony Vincent gets up to next.
