Corbin Bleu returns to Broadway as Jesus in Godspell on April 17 at the Circle in the Square Theatre. Bleu takes over the role from original star Hunter Parrish, who played his final performance on April 15.
Bleu made his Broadway debut as Usnavi in In The Heights, but the mop-topped actor and singer is best known for playing Chad Danforth in the High School Musical film series. He also gained attention for the Discovery Kids series Flight 29 Down. His most recent big screen credit was playing the lead in the film Free Style. Bleu has released two solo albums (Another Side and Speed of Light) and appeared on stage in Debbie Allen’s Brothers of the Knight.
Directed by Daniel Goldstein and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, Godspell also stars Wallace Smith as Judas in addition to Uzo Aduba, Nick Blaemire, Celisse Henderson, Morgan James, Telly Leung, Lindsay Mendez, George Salazar and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle.
