Given the success of Mamma Mia! and Jersey Boys, it’s not surprising that a musical featuring the smooth pop of 1980s Australian hit-makers Air Supply is in the works. On April 23, an invitation-only industry reading of Lost in Love was held in New York featuring Tony nominees Constantine Maroulis as a charming Italian prince and Andrea McArdle as an aristocratic dowager. Broadway.com got a hot shot of the stars and their castmate Justin Matthew Sargent (who is currently playing Drew in Rock of Ages, the role created by Maroulis) with Lost in Love composer Graham Russell and his Air Supply bandmate Russell Hitchcock. (Fun fact: Russell and Hitchcock met when they performed together in an Aussie production of Jesus Christ Superstar.) Looks like the workshop went well!
