Reservations required! Marc Camoletti’s classic sex farce Don’t Dress For Dinner, starring Ben Daniels, Spencer Kayden and Jennifer Tilly, opens April 26 at the American Airlines Theatre. Directed by John Tillinger, the Roundabout Theatre Company production will play a limited engagement through June 17.
In addition to Daniels, Kayden and Tilly, the production stars Patricia Kalember, Adam James and David Aron Damane. Don’t Dress For Dinner is a sexy romp in the French countryside featuring mistaken identities, spilled drinks and hijinks galore. When Jacqueline (Kalember) makes plans to visit her mother, her husband Bernard (James) invites his mistress Suzanne (Tilly) and best friend Robert (Daniels) over for the weekend. When Jacqueline discovers Robert—her secret lover—is coming to visit, she decides to stay after all. Throw in a Cordon Bleu chef and the dinner party becomes a deliciously complicated affair.
Camoletti’s original play Pyjamas Pour Six was translated into English by Robin Hawdon. The Don’t Dress For Dinner creative team includes set designer John Lee Beatty, costume designer Jess Goldstein and lighting designer Ken Billington.
