The Tony-nominated new musical Once came out on top at the 2012 Lucille Lortel Awards, where it was honored for its off-Broadway incarnation. The romantic tuner won three awards, including Outstanding Musical. Stephen Karam's Sons of the Prophet won the award for Outstanding Play as well as the award for Outstanding Lead Actor for star Santino Fontana. The Lortel Awards, hosted by Mario Cantone, were handed out on May 6 at the NYU Skirball Center in a ceremony that benefited the Actors Fund.
