West End alum Jeremiah James will join the cast of The Fantasticks as El Gallo beginning May 8 at off-Broadway’s Snapple Theater Center. James succeeds Edwards Watts in the classic musical by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt.
The Fantasticks is the story of two young lovers who are separated when their fathers build a wall between their houses. Featuring a score of hits including “Try to Remember,” “They Were You” and “Soon It’s Gonna Rain,” The Fantasticks follows the young lovers as they each go off to experience the world before reuniting again.
James starred in Carousel in the West End. His additional touring and regional credits include Crazy for You, Beauty and the Beast, The Gay Bride of Frankenstein, The Rose Tattoo, Our Town and Oklahoma.
In addition to James, The Fantasticks stars Aaron Carter, Whitney Bashor, Bill Bateman, MacIntyre Dixon, Tom Flagg, Matt Leisy, Michael Nostrand, Dan Sharkey, Juliette Trafton and Charles West. John Davidson, who starred as Matt in the TV adaptation of the musical, will join the cast as Henry from June 1 to June 16.
