NBC has ordered a full season of the new comedy Animal Practice starring Justin Kirk, according to Deadline.com The single-camera sitcom is written by Brian Gatewood and Alex Tanaka.
Animal Practice is about a veterinarian (Kirk) who loves animals, but usually hates their owners (especially the new woman who runs the clinic). The show will co-star Tyler Labine and Bobby Lee.
Kirk is best known for playing Andy Botwin on TV's Weeds. He most recently appeared on Broadway in the Tony-nominated production of Other Desert Cities. He has also appeared on Broadway in Love! Valour! Compassion! and Any Given Day. His other theater credits include Ten Unknowns, The Understudy, The World Over, Old Wicked Songs and June Moon. Kirk received an Emmy nomination for the HBO adaptation of Angels in America.
