Tyne Daly, Suzie Essman, Lily Taylor, Alison Fraser, Amy Spanger, Becky Ann Baker, Jeremy Strong, Marylouise Burke, Brandon Victor Dixon and more have been tapped to star in the Williamstown Theatre Festival’s upcoming 2012 season. The complete season runs from June 26 through August 19 in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and includes The Importance of Being Earnest, Far From Heaven, A Month in the Country, The Blue Deep, The Elephant Man, WHADDABLOODCLOT!!! and Here Lies Love.
Directed by David Hyde Pierce, Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy The Importance of Being Earnest will run from June 26 through July 14, 2012 on the Main Stage. The production stars Tony winner Tyne Daly, Amy Spanger, Sean Cullen, Marylouise Burke, Louis Cancelmi, Glenn Fitzgerald, Paul McGrane and Henry Stram.
Based on the 2002 film, the new musical Far From Heaven will run from July 19 through July 29 on the Main Stage. Previously announced star Kelli O’Hara (Nice Work If You Can Get It) will be joined by Alison Fraser, Sarah Jane Everman, Brandon Victor Dixon, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Nancy Anderson, Tony Yazbeck, Mary Stout, Chris Hoch and JB Adams reprising the role of “Morris Farnsworth,” which he played in the original film.
A new translation of Ivan Turgenev’s A Month in the Country will run from August 1 through August 19 at the Main Stage, starring Louis Cancelmi, Jessica Collins, Sean Cullen, Kate Kearney-Patch, Paul McGrane, Jeremy Strong and Elisabeth Waterston.
Directed by Bob Balaban, the world premiere of Lucy Boyle’s play The Blue Deep will run June 27 through July 8 at the Nikos Stage. Previously announced star Blythe Danner will be joined by Becky Ann Baker, Jack Gilpin, Heather Lind and Finn Wittrock.
Directed by Jessica Stone, Neil Simon’s play The Last of the Red Hot Lovers will play from July 11 through July 22 at the Nikos Stage. The production will star Lili Taylor, Brooks Ashmanskas and Susie Essmam.
The world premiere of Katori Hall’s play WHADDABLOODCLOT!!! will play August 8 through August 19 at the Nikos Stage, starring Tina Benko, Aaron Costa Ganis, Bryan Tyree Henry, Greta Lee, Andres Muner and Kathy Searle.
The workshop production of Here Lies Love, a new musical by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim will play five workshop performances from June 21 through June 24 at the Hunter Center for the Performing Arts at MASS MoCA. The workshop will star Renee Albulario, Carol Angeli, Joyelle Cabato, Joshua Dela Cruz, Debralee Daco, Evan D’Angeles, Jose Llana, Ruthie Ann Miles, Maria-Christina Oliveras, Conrad Ricamora, Janelle Velasquez and Zach Villa. As previously announced, the Public Theater will present the world premiere of Here Lies Love in spring 2013.
