Stage and screen star Cynthia Nixon, a 2012 Best Actress Tony nominee for Wit, married her longtime love Christine Marinoni on May 27 in New York. The couple released a wedding photo of Nixon (her hair still very short after having shaved her head to play cancer patient Vivian Bearing on Broadway) in a custom-made pale green Carolina Herrera gown, carrying a bouquet of white peonies. Marinoni in a vested dark suit with a green tie.
This is the first marriage for Nixon, who has a toddler son, Max Nixon-Marinoni, with her new spouse and two older children from her relationship with photographer Danny Mozes. Nixon and Marinoni became engaged three years ago at a rally for same-sex marriage but waited to tie the knot until marriage equality was passed in New York.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
