Glee graduates Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson) and Naya Rivera (Santana Lopez) as well as Glee Project winner Samuel Larsen will join the second season of The Glee Project, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Monteith, Rivera and Larsen will all appear as mentors to the new crop of aspiring Glee stars. Larsen will coach kids on “Dance-ability” on June 12; Monteith will teach “Vulnerability” on June 19; and Rivera will train the prospects on “Sexuality” on June 26. They join previously announced star Lea Michele, who will be the first mentor of the reality show competition’s second season. Michele will school contestants on “Individuality.” The Glee Project begins on the Oxygen Network on June 5.
Four young actors received roles on Glee after competing on the first season of The Glee Project. Winner Damian McGinty and runner-up Lindsay Pearce appeared early in the third season as Rory and Harmony, respectively, while fellow Glee Project winner and runner-up Samuel Larsen and Alex Newell made big impressions as Joe and Unique in the final episodes of season three.
Several Glee stars acted as mentors in the first season of The Glee Project, including 2012 Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards host Darren Criss, Harry Shum Jr., Mark Salling, Jenna Ushkowitz and Kevin McHale.
