Judith Light was the first acting winner of the night at the 2012 Tony Awards, taking home the trophy for Best Featured Actress in a Play for Other Desert Cities.
"I feel like I'm the luckiest girl in New York City tonight," an emotional Light said from the podium at the Beacon Theatre. "I love you all in this magnificent Broadway community." This was her first Tony win, having been nominated in 2011 for the bioplay Lombardi.
Light acknowledged all of the "amazing women" that were nominated in her category, her Other Desert Cities co-stars, husband Robert Desiderio, longtime manager Herb Hamsher and her father, who died in April.
"Daddy, this is for you," she said, before leaving the stage.
